Growth Letter #7

😑 “MEH”

This last month was the most “meh” month since I started my solopreneur journey.

I felt uninspired and with little motivation.

I didn’t make the progress I wanted to make.

I didn’t meet my goals.

I’m a “glass full” kinda girl, but I kept seeing the glass half empty.

Many days I kept saying to myself I should just get a “real job”.

Nothing in particular triggered this.

Nothing bad happened.

It was all in my head.

Some of the thoughts that consumed me:

  • Do I have what it takes?

  • Can I really do this?

  • Do I need to compromise time with my kids to do this? And do I really want that?

I’ve been surrounded by plenty of solopreneurs for the past few years and I know I know it’s normal to have phases like this.

But normal, doesn’t make it easy when you’re going through it.

So how did I pull myself out of it?

By reminding myself:

  • How much I achieved in just 6 months

  • Why I quit my job (I no longer wanted to feel limited by a boss - I had enough of wing-clipping managers!)

  • Why I started in the first place (my why)

  • That even if I don’t have what it takes right now, I have the capability to figure it out

  • That I can’t do this alone

Meh days, weeks, months - serve a purpose too.

And help you to grow even if you don’t see it at the time.

I got very clear on 4 things:

  1. I want to invest in a coach

  2. I’ll start a podcast later this year (more on that on my next Growth Letter)

  3. I feel even stronger about my “secret” project (see the next section)

  4. I’ll write a book early next year

🧪 THE GROWTH LAB

Which brings me to my “secret” project (which also ties with my why).

My project is based on the idea that it’s really hard and lonely to grow a business.

It takes a village.

It takes a network.

It takes consistency.

It takes mindset.

It takes setting goals (and reviewing them often).

It takes learning from others all the time.

It takes having a strategy & having a plan to implement it.

It takes accountability.

It takes persistence & tons of patience.
