Growth Letter #8
June is such a great time to be in Portugal.
It’s sunny. Everyone is happy. Everyone is outdoors.
There are festivals, parties, and fairs everywhere.
And speaking of parties… I had a couple of my very own celebrations in June.
I onboarded two new clients & I met my end-of-the-year goal.
14 years happily married to the love of my life.
❤️ THE BIGGEST LIFE/GROWTH HACK
Do you know that 1998 movie “Sliding Doors” with Gwyneth Paltrow?
It shows what happens to her life when she experiences something (no spoilers) and what would happen to her life if that experience didn’t happen.
I often think about this movie.
I wonder what my life would have been like if I hadn’t gone to Dublin & met my husband.
What parallel life would I have now?
And while I’ll never know - there’s one thing I do know.
Marring a person who fully supports you and continuously makes you a better version of yourself - is in my opinion, the ultimate life/growth hack.
So when we celebrate our wedding anniversary we’re not just celebrating that awesome day with our friends and family.
We’re also celebrating how we keep supporting each other.
How we make each other better.
All the incredible experiences we had together.
How much we learn from each other.
How much we support each other’s crazy ideas.
How we’re raising our kids.
Our friendship.
Our love.
That’s a lot to celebrate!
🚀 HOW TO GO FROM 5K UNITS SOLD TO 2.5M UNITS SOLD
Naura Hayden was an American author and actress who released a book called “Astro-Logical Love”. She printed 5000 copies, but she only sold 2000 copies. She had to sell the rest for $0.99 to flee markets.
It was in a flea market that a New York publisher found the book.
He read it and loved the content. So he decides to approach Naura to get the rights.
He didn’t change a single word inside the book.
He simply changed the cover.
The new cover was now called: “How to Satisfy a Woman Every Time… and Have Her Beg for More!”.
The book became a New York Times bestseller and sold 2.3M copies in 18 months.
Why am I telling you this?
Not to “influence” you to read the book - but to show just how powerful words are.
What’s the BIG difference in the copy? The first title tells me nothing about the book. The second title tells me everything about the book.
It tells Who it’s for (the Ideal Customer Avatar): men who feel insecure about women.
It tells the ICA What’s in it for them: how to satisfy a woman.
It tells the ICA Who they can become: a confident guy who not only knows what he’s doing in bed - he now has women begging for more!
If I were a guy (I never thought I’d write such a sentence) with insecurities around women - I’d 100% pick up that book - JUST because of the cover.
You see, this is the power of good copy.
Copywriting is not just a nice to have in marketing - It’s arguably the most important skill in marketing.
And the difference between converting and not converting your leads and clients.
And… speaking of excellent copy…
My copywriter friend Emily has opened the doors to “The 10k Email Club”.
This is an all-in-one for weekly marketing emails and it's perfect for busy entrepreneurs who are not leveraging the power of copy that converts and email marketing.
She has a full schedule but she’s giving this one chance this year of working with her.
Don’t say I didn’t tell you 🙂
