💩 STORY TIME #1: THE BEDSHEET PHASE (OR BAD SH** PHASE 😂)
When I was living in Dublin, I’d often come on holiday to Portugal and did my best to catch up with all my friends.
One of my close friends had opened a guest house.
For a couple of years, when I called her to meet, she said she couldn’t because she was cleaning the guesthouse or ironing bed sheets.
Then after a while, I’d call and she’d have a whole day for me. She grew her business to the point that she had a trusted team looking after the guest house for her. She only had to come in to deal with small “fires”.
FREEDOM is the ultimate wealth!
Why am I telling you this story?
Because I’m in the “ironing bed sheets phase”.
I’ve been working late and on weekends. I’ve been avoiding plans with family and friends.
Because ultimately - I too want freedom, but I know it requires a bit of sacrifice to get there.
PS: This entrepreneur friend of mine is called Cleelia Uudam Costa. She also happens to be a life &business coach and now runs another beautiful house by the ocean.
😮 STORY TIME #2: HOW ONE QUESTION CAN CHANGE YOUR MINDSET
I launched a 4-weeks marketing strategy course.
Creating digital products was always on my radar, but I thought I’d do this later in my business.
In January I was attending a free MasterClass with a Business coach I much admire and respect.
The topic was about creating scalable products.
During the class, she said “Are you stealing? Are you stealing from others the opportunity of learning from you?”
Don’t ask me why, but this hit a nerve for me and I went from “one day I’ll do this” to “I’m doing this NOW because I want to share the strategy knowledge I acquired in 10 years”.
So here I am… halfway through my course and I’ve been getting feedback like:
“LOVING the course you are well-spoken and full of great info!”
“I’ve made such progress since the beginning of this course! It changed how I look at my project now and my ideal client”
Turns out - I was stealing.
And guess what?
I’m never, ever doing it again ;)

📅 3. MARKETING PLAN
Think of your business as a plane you’re flying.
The fuel to keep your plane going is your WHY.
You probably heard about one of the most-watched Ted Talks of all time: Simon Sinek’s “How great leaders inspire action”.
He shares why you need to start your business with a WHY.
If there’s no strong purpose - you’ll quickly find excuses, and lose your motivation. OR you’ll leave your team feeling uninspired, lost, and unmotivated.
You run out of fuel. Your team runs out of fuel.
Knowing the why will help you when things get tough. You just need to remember why you started in the first place.
The bonus?
It will make people follow you in your vision - that goes for clients and teams.
Let me tell you - I’ve been crafting my why for a while. And I feel I finally nailed it.
Finding my why has been transformational.
Because now what I’m building became so much bigger than me or money.
I have a purpose.
And I’m determined to make it happen.

I don’t do boring old-school marketing strategies.
I aim to inspire you to think differently about how you do business so you can also touch and inspire your team and your customers.
⚒️ 4. MY LOVE STORY... WITH A TOOL!
When I started my marketing consultancy business in December I knew I didn't want to onboard more than a couple of clients because first I wanted to sort out:
✅ My process for customer onboarding
✅ A structure for my marketing plans, strategy, and roadmap
✅ Having scalable systems in place for the strategy execution
✅ A system or app to collaborate & communicate with my clients easily
But to do this really well - I needed a good tool where all my work could be centralized.
I did my research, but I hit a roadblock: none of the tools I was testing were doing what I needed them to do.
They were all too complicated or too basic for my needs. They needed big learning curves or too many integrations.
But then, I got introduced to ClickUp.
They sure keep their promise: One app to replace them all.
🌸 5. MY MOM’S ACTIONABLE GROWTH TIP
My mom once told me that you need to care for relationships as you care for your garden (she has a beautiful garden).
What a beautiful metaphor.
You need fertile soil to grow (that is the environment you’re in - and who you surround yourself with. You need to be around people who believe in you, cheer for you, and mention your name in a room full of opportunities).
You need to plant seeds and water your plants expecting nothing in return - some will die, and others will blossom (that is how you nurture your relationships).
You need to remove the weeds (setting boundaries, removing all the destructive behavior you don’t want in your life - jealousy, negative talk, self-sabotage, etc).
Keep doing this and you’ll see beautiful relationships blossom and opportunities coming your way.
I always understood the importance of building relationships but never understood how JUST HOW important it was until I started this journey.
Honestly, I don’t know if I’d be able to do this alone.
When I was stressed and doubting myself, my friends and husband believed in me more than I did.
And some of my good friends keep mentioning my name every time an opportunity comes up.
PS: It’s not just my mom saying it. It’s not just me (or Justin below!). Building the RIGHT relationships, and having a supportive network is far too important and something that now became a big part of why I’m doing what I’m doing.
