Growth Letter #5

Spring is here and it’s such a beautiful metaphor for life.

After darkness - comes light and color.

Flowers are blossoming. Trees are growing flowers, fruits, and leaves again.

Are you ready to Grow too?

I’m starting this letter from my very own “growth experiment” with my Marketing Strategy 4-Week Course.

😎 7 LESSONS FROM RUNNING MY FIRST EVER ONLINE COURSE (& THE NEXT STEP)

I put my heart into creating a course about marketing strategy I’d be proud of.

But while I was doing this I went through a lot of mental processes and so many learnings and growth!

1. Progress over perfection.
People are interested in the end result. How you deliver it, it's less important. We often get caught up in making things pretty and perfect - but pretty and perfect can come after. First focus on quality content and validating your idea.

2. Start before you're ready.
No one is ever fully ready. I sure wasn't. But do you know what everyone who is currently succeeding in business has in common? They're action-takers and they're not waiting to be fully ready to get their products or ideas out.

3. Learn the rules. Then break them.
During the course, I came up with my own version of funnels/flywheel (I called it the CARE wheel) because everything I studied this far was always lacking or missing a piece to me. I was *really* nervous about introducing this (because who am I? Certainly not Hubspot) but the students LOVED it. My message resonated with & inspired.

4. Time is subjective.
In a group coaching call with a business coach, "If you have a week to do a course, it will take you a week. If you have a month it will take you a month. If you have a year, it will take you a year.” She's right. I thought a course like this would take me months to put together. It took me 4 weeks.

5. You teach, but you're mostly learning.
I've learned so much with this process. About me. From the students. From their questions. Their questions and comments inspired me to think about more content and more ways to serve.

6. Clarity comes from taking action

Ask me 3 months ago if I had any idea about doing a course and what that course would be about. The answer would have been a big NO. I took action and I had to figure it out as I was going.

7. Growth is uncomfortable
I was so outside my comfort zone throughout this process. Sometimes I loved it. Other times it was just painful. Many things went through my head, such as:

"Can I actually deliver this?" (turns out I could!)
"Can I actually help others and give them the clarity they are after?" (turns out I could do that too!)
"Will anyone engage?" (turns out YES!)

It was scary. But I kept going and got it done. And I got so much satisfaction from doing it.
This beta course is now validated with raving testimonials (as the one below) I can't wait to start sharing it with a wider audience.

THE NEXT STEP?

I’ll be making some updates and improvements to the course, recording it like a pro, and then making it available.

It will help B2C female founders who feel lost and confused to gain clarity, feel inspired, excited, and motivated - and get a CLEAR step-by-step strategy roadmap ready to execute.

🔑 MARKETING STRATEGY: YOUR CUSTOMERS HOLD THE KEY

The other day I doing a strategy call with a client and on the other end I hear “So you need to step into your ideal customer's shoes, right?”

I was quick to answer “NO”

It’s not enough to step into your customer’s shoes.

You need to walk in your customer's shoes.

You need to see what your customer sees.

You need to feel what your customer feels.

Only by doing that, will you TRULY understand your customer and be able to create powerful messaging that will lead to conversions.

AND HOW TO DO THAT?

Take time to talk to your ideal customers.

Survey them regularly.

Stalk your customer (not in a creepy way but from an angle of genuine curiosity and research about their interests).

And then… spend some time writing who your ideal customer is.

Understand your customer’s dreams, fears, and concerns, what triggers her, what keeps her up at night, what she values, who inspires her, and what motivates her.

You’ll build your message, your product/service, and the whole buyer journey around your ideal customer.

So if you don’t get her, it will be really hard to win her trust.

💪 HOW YOUR LIFE CAN CHANGE IN A YEAR

If you’re just starting out in your business: this one is for you!

Emily’s story was a bit too long to write - so I decided to interview her. (And hey, now I’ve got my first ever YouTube video - sooooo many firsts for me this year #likeavirgin)

Learn how she went from calling me crying because she was out of a job (and this job sponsored her visa in Germany!) and had no savings - to creating a booming business where she’s making her way to 6 figures and hiring.

All of this in just 12 months 😎

But you’ll also learn a fun fact about how we met: I hired her as a copywriter when her experience was to sing in a cruise ship.

You can listen to our chat below.

👋 CAN I HELP?

If you’re overwhelmed, lost, and insecure about what direction to take with your business, let’s talk.

⏱️ Book a 90min strategy call. Best for: B2C female founders & educators who are ready to feel inspired, focused, and clear. I can have an intro call to discuss how I can help you build a marketing strategy & roadmap for your business.

“This call EXCEED my expectations. Before I was feeling unsure and overwhelmed. Now I feel determined, clear, and inspired. It was 90 minutes of deep, concrete searching to find what matters to me and my business in the future. SO COOL!”

LET’S TALK!
