😮 How to go from idea to strategy to ready to launch in 8 hours (yes, really!)
Meet Cris.
She's Portuguese and she's a lawyer specializing in divorces and child benefits.
She has an incredible vision for her business.
She wants to help women going through a divorce, to understand their rights and use them fully.
BUT also, she wants women to see this as an opportunity.
An opportunity to restart.
An opportunity to make new friends.
An opportunity to redesign their life.
An opportunity to do things they love.
An opportunity to fall in love with themselves.
She wants community. Bring women together. Help them elevate their lives.
She came to me with a million ideas. Incredible ideas.
But she was frustrated. She had no clue how to get anything done.
She tried things before.
She invested thousands of euros in education.
But she didn't have anything complete.
I proposed: Why don't we do a VIP Growth Day?
And in our 8 hours together (over 2 days) she got:

🚰 How to NEVER worry about your competition: A story about water
If I asked you to think of water brands, I bet this is what comes to your mind:
This is what has always been done in the industry:
Spring water
Mountain water
Plastic or glass packaging
Simple messaging
And not much more to say
Yawn. Boring. Bland.
Over a decade ago, Mike Cessario, a graphic designer, started wondering if he could revolutionize this industry.
🤔 What if I could actually make water cool?
🤔 Why are only energy drinks doing the cool stuff?
Enter Liquid Death!
The packing of the water is in aluminum - something that no other water brands were doing.
So much so, that he couldn't even find packing suppliers in the States when he first started.
The marketing is something so crazy and out of the box like nothing ever seen before.
😱 For starters, their logo is a skull.
😱 On their website and social media you'll read things like, “Murder your thirst,” or “Death to plastic,” or “Get your horrorscope.”
😱 The visuals are insane. The “Murder your Thirst” is a guy with a can as a face cutting heads.
(btw I'm 1000% not attracted to visuals like this and I'm wishing for a female version of Mike Cesario to pop up with a new brand that speaks to ME).
😱 They have super cool merchandising.
😱 Gosh, they even have a club that advertises, “Sell your soul to the club!”
In an industry of boredom, this was refreshing! And so different.
He made his brand almost a cult of die hard fans (a bit like Harley Davidson).
In 2022, Mike's water brand was valued at $700 million.
🚀 Actionable Growth Tip: Think differently about your business
Don't compete.
If Mike entered this market to compete with what was already there, it would have been a lost game from the start.
Instead, think about the unique value only YOU can bring to the market.
Mike was a creative. He worked most of his life in marketing agencies.
He used his creativity to build this brand.
Also, he had seen water in cool cans once at a concert way before he launched his brand which got him thinking “Why is no one doing this?”.
So now, it's your turn!
Think how can I make this differently?
Better?
What unique value can I bring to the market?
What don't I like about the current market?
How can I remove friction?
Stop thinking about how to enter a market and compete within that market.
Start thinking about how you cancreate something so different, special, easy, or unique that you create a brand-new market demand!

🙂 A final little story: When you get to work with your role models
I was never the type of girl who'd have posters in her room or idolize musicians or actors.
But I do have a few women I truly admire and who became role models to me - not in my teen years, but in my adult life.
One of them is Sigrun.
When I applied for my last job I was asked who were the people I admired.
One of the people I put on that list was Sigrun.
Sigrun is currently Europe's leading business coach who I have been following and admiring for several years.
We did a program together 10 years ago and became Facebook friends.
I've seen her build her business from zero to 3 million in annual revenue.
I thought about hiring her as a coach, back in the days she was still doing one-on-ones.
I spontaneously applied to work with her at the very start of her journey.
I like how genuine, direct, and no BS she was, while also having a big heart.
At the end of 2022, when I had just quit my job, I got her emails about her program launch and decided:
This is it! It's time to learn from her.
So I invested in her program (which helped me shape what the G.Y.M. is today!).
At the end of the last year, she emailed her alumni asking who wanted to become an ambassador.
I applied and got selected. Yay!
I got to see the backstage operations and how she and her team operated - and it was so awesome to see how ethical and good-hearted they all are.
After the launch, someone from the team reached out to me asking for a call.
And I got offered to work for Sigrun as a mentor in her SOMBA Club which has hundreds of female entrepreneurs. BIGGER YAY!

And now I get to contribute my tiny bit to my role model's “Why” - her big mission.
