Growth Letter #13

I'm opening a G.Y.M., but before I explain, let me tell you a story:

63 days ago I started a challenge.

I challenged myself to work out every day for 66 days.

Back then, I could barely run 1.5K without running out of breath or my legs turning to jelly.

I started working out EVERY day - sun, rain, or cold. No excuses. I only missed one day because I was suffering from horrible cramps that day.

Some incredible things happened (I've beaten a few personal records):

  • I got from 1.5K to 3K (my goal is to get to 5k by the end of the year - 27 days to practice!)

  • I got to 130 PAI (Physiological Activity Indicator, which is based on heart rate and daily activity intensity)

  • I improved my running speed

  • I joined a local athletics team who have been extremely helpful and encouraging

  • I started to do Yoga which has helped me a lot with breathing and stretching

  • I ran my first competition last Saturday (and I'm happy to report I didn't finish last)

  • I used this workout time to catch up with friends and to listen to podcasts or audiobooks

  • And the best part: I became consistent. I built a habit and this was why I started in the first place)

(Oh, and I also inspired my hubby to work out every day!)

If you are a regular runner or have been exercising all your life - all this data might seem laughable.

I never did sports (only the compulsory classes in school), so all this progress for me is outstanding (I want to be laughing about these numbers a year from now).

But I'm not here to compare myself to others.

The only rule I use is Ro's Rule! It's me vs me and I'm 100% better than I was when I started this challenge.

And I'm freaking proud of myself.

Some key learning points from this challenge:

Mindset

Mindset is everything. If you want something you'll find a way, if not you'll find excuses.

“I don't have time”

“I have to look after my kids”

“It's too hot”

“It's too cold”

“It's raining”

“I'm so busy with work”

“I'm too tired”

“I just wanna chill today”

“I don't have the right training outfit”

“I pee when I run too much” (real after-pregnancy problem - sorry to overshare, but I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one with this problem)

Bla bla bla…

I was fed up with my excuses. I've been making them for 42 years.

“Enough”, I decided!

I was so determined that I went from excuse mode to: “Let's figure this sh** out” mode.

But until you make this switch in your brain, you just keep going from one excuse to the next.

Strategy

I picked my goals:

  • Making workouts a daily habit: it needed to become as easy and “embedded” in my system as brushing my teeth

  • Getting from 1.5K to 5K from October to December

The strategy:

Social accountability: I'd share this publicly in my Newsletter and Instagram. Because I knew I didn't want to “lose face,” I was sure I'd commit from start to finish.

Planning and Executing

Ok strategy sorted - now let's make a plan and execute!

I allocated time each day to work out.

I told my husband about my challenge. He allocated time to look after the kids when I was working out. If he were busy all day with work, I'd work out when the kids were in school.

I got all the training gear I needed.

I got pads.

I shared daily progress on my stories with my community.

I turned on my Zepp Life band for each workout to track my progress and measure results.

Community & Accountability

This played a HUGE role in the success of my goal.

I had so many people cheering me on.

The obvious ones: my husband, my sister, my best friends.

The not-so-obvious ones: Acquaintances, people who follow me online, and a bunch of strangers when I was running in the competition on Saturday.

And while I was getting my body and mind nurtured - I had a lot of time to think and get creative.

This leads me to my BIG ANNOUNCEMENT….

Drum-roll please!

I'M OPENING A G.Y.M.

(nope, not that kind of Gym)

This G.Y.M. stands for

Grow Your Mindset

Grow Your Marketing

What's the G.Y.M.?

The G.Y.M. is a 12-week marketing program that will make all fierce female founders go from marketing zero to marketing superhero.

We'll cover Strategy and Planning, and we'll get sh** done!

Why am I doing this?

I've seen far too many women with incredible ideas & grit but:

  • Having no clue how to create a strategy & plan for their business

  • Feeling overwhelmed with marketing and the scary number of things to figure out

  • Thinking that getting help or a marketing coach is totally out of reach

  • Overthinking and over-perfecting while never getting anything done (instead of just getting ideas out there & testing them)

  • Setting themselves up for failure because they want to do TOO much

  • Feeling unsupported and losing motivation along the way

I'm committed to change all this.

I'm committed to helping you cross the finish line on your business goals!

And this is why I created this program.

A practical, hands-on program where you'll write down your strategy, make a 12-month plan to execute the strategy and we'll also build a high-converting funnel together.

All of this with my training, personalized feedback, and guidance.

A program that will coach you on all the marketing stuff you need to learn so you set yourself up for success and get ahead.

In this G.Y.M., no one gets left behind. Everyone crosses the finish line!

You see, sports are far too similar to business (and this is why I LOVE the GYM as a name for this program).

You need the right mindset.

You need a strategy.

You need a plan to implement your strategy.

You need feedback while you're executing.

You need a team to cheer you on along the way.

You need a coach who will help you with all of this and will help you get ahead much faster.

I'm that coach. For marketing. For mindset. For business.

The doors to the G.Y.M. will open on January 5th to 15 fierce founders who are committed to making 2024 their best year yet.

Are you one of them?

JOIN THE WAITLIST

PS: I'm sure you know someone who could benefit from the G.Y.M. Forward this email or share this page with them and encourage them to join.

Be THAT friend.
