Growth Letter #14

I lost track of time during this festive time! I was 100% convinced that yesterday was Sunday and today was a Monday so your Growth Letter arrived one day later .

But this is a great opportunity to announce a β€œlittle” change this year.

The Growth Letters will start arriving in your inbox every week on Saturdays - starting next week (Jan 13)!

Can I get a yay?

One month is now feeling like too big of a gap when I'm planning to double down on my content and program.

There will be plenty of lessons, learnings, failures, and success stories that I want to share with you firsthand - while it's all fresh!

There's a LOT to unpack in this Growth Letter, so let's dive in.

PS: I saved the best to last - my strategy & money goals are at the very end.
PPS: There will be a few extra emails about the G.Y.M. (my program) this month.

πŸš€ What I'm leaving in 2023, what I'm bringing to 2024

I love doing this exercise every year.

I did this every year when I was heading marketing departments.

I do this for myself for a while now.

As business owners, doing annual reviews is a MUST if you want to keep growing your business & improving your lifestyle.

What does it entail?
You review what you did in 2023.

Where your money came from.

What served you in your growth journey and what didn't.

You set your goals for 2024.

And then you decide what you want to bring with you to the next year (what will help you achieve your yearly goals) and what you want to leave behind (because it no longer serves you).

What I'll leave behind.

1. My (bad) relationship with money.
I gave far too many discounts and free time in 2023.
It was my first year in business, I was still figuring it out (and was a bit insecure too!) and it felt like the right thing to do.

But when I did my business review at the end of the year I realised that I had lost over 20K.

20 freaking thousand!!! Erm… WHAT?

So yeah, discounts stay in 2023.

2. Scarcity mindset
My mind still navigates to scarcity when things get tough.

About 5 times last year I told myself (and my hubby) I should β€œstop this business nonsense and get a real job”.

And many times I worried about all types of silly things:

πŸ‘ Fearing that my clients would fire me (didn't happen)
πŸ‘ Fearing that I'd run out of money (totally irrational - I was able to pay bills, buy a new car without loans, save, AND start investing in ETFs, government bonds, and more this year)
πŸ‘ Worrying that I'd fail and damage my reputation
πŸ‘ Comparing myself to others
πŸ‘ Seeing my client hiring an assistant as a threat (this one was REALLY silly, but only lasted 2 seconds in my mind!)
πŸ‘ Seeing AI as a threat when it came out

As I heard recently from Sigrun (one of my favorite business coaches)
β€œWorrying is a waste of time”.

This scarcity mindset does NOT serve me.

Does NOT serve you.

Does NOT serve anyone.

3. Overthinking
It's funny because when I tell people I know that I suffer from this, normally they don't believe me. And I get why.

I'm extremely good at making decisions. I do it all the time. As a mother, as a leader as a strategy & marketing coach.

But when it comes to my business I overthink and overanalyse. A LOT.
And I'm the one who always says β€œStop overthinking. Start overtesting.”

It's time to wise up and take my own advice!

What I'm bringing with me to 2024

1. A scalable business
I went from one employer to multiple clients, which was great and what I wanted when I started last year. But now, I want to slowly grow something scalable, which I can't do with my client work.

I can only take that much client work because my time is limited. Yes, I can hire a team, but to properly scale I need a new business model.

And this is also why I'm launching my G.Y.M.
A scalable program and membership to help women grow their marketing and grow their mindset.

2. Personal branding

I want to keep growing my online personal brand. And I have big plans this year.

A personal brand is an incredible asset and no matter what you do right now - it's something you should be investing in.

It's one of those things that will keep compounding over time and help you to become a cash machine - whether you're in business or working for others (in business it can help you 10X your worth and if you're employed it will make head hunters come to you with the best offers).

One of my big regrets is that I didn't start doing this before when I was still employed.

I can't go back in time, but I can (and will) keep doing better moving forward.

3. Consistency

I want to go all in on showing up online (ties up to point 2). I've done more in 2023 than I ever did before, but it's far from where I want to be.

I lacked consistency - and I even lacked STRATEGY!
The strategy girl failed to strategize.

So I paused for a while to build my Ideal Customer for my GYM and work on my content strategy.

I'm now ready to show up consistently and share content that will help my ideal clients.

This will help me grow my brand and support the strategy for 2024.

And speaking of which…

πŸ“ˆ My word for 2024

Community.

I'm committed to 10X my community and my network.

I've seen the power of community in 2023 - it was crucial to my growth!

βœ… All my client work opportunities came from my network

βœ… I was able to do my marketing course because I was part of a group program with an incredible community (whenever I was doubting myself the group helped enormously!)

βœ… My community of besties was by my corner all year - they cheered me on and helped me when I was down

I made incredible new connections thanks to a new community I'm part of in Lisbon

I want to grow my G.Y.M. community to 100 fierce female founders in 2024!

I want to help my clients grow their communities.

I want to help my husband grow his community (on top of his photography business, he's launching pizza workshops this month!)

As cheesy as the following quote my sound - it's 100% true!

πŸ“ˆ 5 books I read in 2023 (and strongly recommend!)

I read 13 books in 2023 which was another personal record.

Here's a selection of my top 5 (in no particular order). All these books made me think differently and helped me with my personal growth.

πŸ“– We Should All Be Millionaires by Rachel Rogers

πŸ“– 10X is Easier than 2 by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy

πŸ“– The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks

πŸ“– The Diary of a CEO by Steven Bartlett

πŸ“– $100M Leads by Alexander Hormozi

πŸ€— One actionable growth tip (Grow Your Money with me this year!)

I'll be opening the doors to my G.Y.M. soon - a 12-week program that will give you:

  • A marketing strategy

  • A marketing plan for the year

  • A funnel

And I want to share this with you!!!

If you join and bring a friend you get €100 off your first month.

If this is not for you right now, but you still want to recommend a friend - I'll give you €100 if your friend joins.

Do you know anyone who'd be a good fit for this program? Reply to this email and let me know.

The seats are limited to 15 for this class.

πŸš€ My strategy for 2024 & my money goals

1. Keep working with my current clients as a Fractional Head of Marketing.

2. Put some serious focus into growing my GYM! The GYM (Grow Your Marketing) is a 12-week program to help women go from marketing zero to marketing superhero!

What's the strategy that goes into growing an online program? What's my vision? And my money goals? Who do I want to work with in 2024?

I'm unpacking it all in a video (it was too long to write and this letter is already long enough…)

The doors to the G.Y.M. will open on January 5th to 15 fierce founders who are committed to making 2024 their best year yet.

Are you one of them?
