1. I CHANGED MY MIND AND I'M HAVING A HARD TIME WITH THAT

I've been giving hints everywhere that the GYM is coming back.

 

I was so excited I was out of bed on Monday at 6 am.

 

This week I sent an email to my waitlist announcing it.

 

And then it hit me like a ton of bricks:

 

My husband is entering his peak season at work.

 

My kids will be off school in just a few weeks.

 

I'm onboarding a group of coachees (did I mention I launched a 6-month group coaching package?)

 

I'm onboarding a brand-new done-for-you marketing client.

 

I want to focus on organically growing my Instagram and LinkedIn.

 

Plus I want to write a book this year.

 

How the actual *f* did I think I could manage all of this?

 

Yes, I can ask my VA to work more hours.

 

Yes, I can get some help with the kids 

(it's never the same as having my partner at HOME looking after them, cleaning and cooking when things get busy for me - and I do this for him when he's busy which is happening from May onwards!)

 

Yes, I should have thought about this before 🤦‍♀️.

 

If you know me, you know I can get a LOT done.

 

But this will drive me to burn out and not allow me to serve “my people” the way they deserve to be served.

 

So, yesterday morning I called my mentor and asked her:

 

“My gut is telling me to pause this launch and go back to it in September.”

She fully supported me.

 

I know it's the right call.

 

But I'm having a hard time with it.

 

Because even though I'm allowed to change my mind, I don't want to be the person who says something and does something else.

 

And because I was truly excited with the idea of re-launching the GYM.

 

I loved the last cohort so much and I just wanted to jump right back.

 

But here's the exciting part:

 

I'm assessing the idea of doing a GYM Bootcamp - at the end of May or the beginning of June.

 

This would be a speedy version of the GYM to get:

 

High-level strategy, get clarity on your core offer and support to create the landing page for that offer.

2. “YOU CAN'T HIT A TARGET YOU CAN'T SEE”

And speaking of targets - I recently finished listening to yet another book (who else is an Audible fan? 🙋‍♀️). 

The book was Maximum Achievement: Strategies and Skills that Will Unlock Your Hidden Powers to Succeed by Brian Tracy.

 

There's one quote, in particular, that stuck with me:

“You can't hit a target you can't see.”

 

This made me think of when I was working for an e-learning company.

 

I joined as the first marketing hire and at the start there was no real strategy or plan.

 

So I built one and set targets.

 

In the first year, I only had one person on my team and I told her:

“This year we're going for half a million from marketing alone”. 
She smiled and said, “You're crazy”.

 

I reverse-engineered and broke down how we'd get to the numbers.

 

By the end of the year, we were over the target.

 

The year after I told the team (we were 3 by then!):

“This year we're going for a million from marketing alone”. 
They laughed and said, “You're crazy”.

By the end of the year, we had smashed the target hitting 1.2 million in sales from our marketing campaigns.

 

The year after I told the team (by this point we were a team of 5 full-time employees + contractors):

“This year we're going for 2 million from marketing alone”. 
They didn't laugh.

Instead, they said, “Let's do it!”.

 

A goal is only crazy - until you make it happen!

 

 

3. ACTIONABLE GROWTH TIP: SET YOUR FINANCIAL GOALS (DOWNLOADABLE INCLUDED)

The results in my previous story were possible because I set a goal.

 

I broke down our offers and revenue lines.

 

And figured out how much I needed each month, from each revenue line to meet my yearly target.

Oh, and because I had the BEST TEAM!

 

And if a month didn't go that well, we were resourceful.

 

We'd come up with new offers or new campaign ideas to meet the monthly goal.

 

So, here's what I want you to do:

  1. Make a copy of this document
     

  2. Set your goal for the year at the top
     

  3. Go to the revenue lines and add the different offers you have (this might trigger you to get creative and come up with new offers, upsells, and downsells to launch!)
     

  4. Project how much money you can make each month
     

  5. Update the Google sheet with the real numbers as the revenue comes in
     

  6. Not meeting your targets? That's ok - you're resourceful and you can figure out a way to help more people! 

    (Remember you can only make money if you're resolving a problem!)
     

  7. Pin the Google sheet to your browser - you're supposed to look at this EVERY day with your morning coffee! It will trigger you to come up with ideas and solutions to meet your goals!

Don't just wait for money to knock on your door.

 

You need to have clear financial goals and be a go-getter who makes things happen.

 

Work for yourself as if you were working for someone else:

 

If a target was not met, what would you do?

 

Come up with excuses?

 

OR find solutions?
