The other day I heard the term โ€œdigital dustโ€. 

 

Digital dust is what 95% of freebies are collecting these days. 

 

First of all, what is a freebie?

A freebie is normally something that's given away for free.

It can be a checklist, an eBook, a video series, etc which online businesses create to collect emails (and grow their mailing list).

 

Why do you need one?

Because growing your email list is directly correlated to your online revenue.

This is a FACT.

 

 

87% of brands say that email marketing is very critical to business success.

So when you create your next freebie (and especially if you have a personal brand), consider this S.A.P. framework:

 

1. Small problem: It needs to resolve a small problem from the big problem that your Ideal Customer has

Let me explain. Let's say you're a business coach for female C-levels. Your ideal customer has one big problem: being a top performer in such a high-level role.

 

A small problem could be: Building your leadership confidence. 


2. Appetizer: It needs to be an appetizer of what it's like to work with you.

Think about a restaurant. 

You walk in and the whole place already makes you curious.

Then they bring a little appetizer. 


Wow, it's delicious. You want more! 


You can't wait to see what the chef will prepare for the main course. 
 

3. Personality: It needs to show your brand personality, and show what makes you different.

You need to captivate your ideal client. 

And the best way to do that? Showing your brand personality and what you stand for.

In a world with thousands of brands offering the same things, what makes you decide to pay attention to one brand over the other?

 

So from the first contact people need to feel โ€œOh I like this girlโ€ or โ€œWow, this brand is so differentโ€.

 

Make your Ideal Customer feel something. People ALWAYS remember how you make them feel.
